To be honest. I am also not real sure why running your FPR like that helps either, I just know it passed my car after it failed at 3 different places. Your car won't be real happy but it's for a short period of time so no harm done. Again I would consider this kinda a last ditch effort to get it passed as its not the CORRECT way to get it passed, and I'm sure I will catch flak for even suggesting it. I would strongly recommend asking around tho. Try some local lube shops, ask at your local auto parts store, or take it to a proformance shop. Almost every pro shop around here that does major car mods has an inspector in their back pockets if you just ask quietly. If you can line something up this also gives you the freedom to do whatever you want to your car. I'm running test pipes/down pipes on my 300zx with NO CATS and I love the extra power and sound! I also have other things like darker then legal tint ect. Having the freedom to do whatever you want to YOUR own car is a great feeling.
